List of Physico-Chemical Olive Oil Testing Laboratories

The International Olive Oil Council (IOC) recognizes laboratories that prove to be suitable for physicochemical evaluations of virgin olive oil. This is an important recognition for laboratories and a guarantee for anyone who wants to know the physicochemical quality of a virgin olive oil.

This recognition is obtained after demonstrating proper functioning and the reliability of the results obtained in the annual competition tests with a rigorous control by the IOC Executive Secretariat.

All laboratories, whether they have a panel or not, must request entry into the recognition process on an annual basis. Regardless if they were already granted the previous year, they must update it annually. They will be updated, provided that the results of the competency test are approved or positive.

We are now going to see the list of both public and private laboratories that are recognized at this time, although we always recommend confirmation of recognition via email from the laboratory in which you are interested in sending your sample.
