Four Tablespoons of Olive Oil a Day Reduces Risk of Cancer

Olive Oil and Breast Cancer: Following a Mediterranean diet including Extra Virgin Olive Oil (EVOO) reduces the risk of breast cancer by up to 68%, according to one of the findings published in the Jama Internal Medicine Journal.

After more than 10 years of research, the study showed that women consuming about four tablespoons of olive oil per day reduced their risk of breast cancer by more than half. During this research, thousands of volunteers consumed one liter of extra virgin olive oil a week. Results show that two-thirds of volunteers had a lower risk of disease. Monitoring of dietary factors has been critical in the course of research.

The women followed a Mediterranean style diet including extra virgin olive oil. It was observed that olive oil reduced the risk of cancer. According to this study, Extra Virgin Olive Oil  helps protect against breast cancer.

The experiment also found that the degree of tumor malignancy was reduced. In this way, it has been confirmed that diet affects the formation and reduction of tumors. Including olive oil in the diet of any patient is therefore a good part of preventing cancer.

Until now, it has been known that there is a lower incidence of breast cancer in the Mediterranean area. As a result of this study we can confirm that olive oil, as a crucial part of a Mediterranean diet and one of the healthiest fats there is, contributes to this prevention.
